Bhubaneswar, June 20(OT Webdesk): Prime Minister Narendra Modi commemorated the first anniversary of the BJP-led Odisha government by unveiling a sweeping Rs 18,600 crore development package across the state.

Addressing a gathering at Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar, he laid the foundation stones for transformative infrastructure and social welfare initiatives and unveiled Odisha’s Vision Documents for 2036 and 2047.

Among the standout announcements was the Boudh district receiving its first-ever rail link and the rollout of 100 electric buses under the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) scheme, signalling a push toward sustainable urban mobility.

Key infrastructure upgrades also include rural bridges, national highways, and irrigation networks to enhance agricultural reach and economic connectivity.

In a major healthcare push, PM Modi announced the integration of Ayushman Bharat and Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana, offering nearly 3 crore residents access to free treatment nationwide.

Support for farmers continues with increased paddy procurement prices and enhanced Minimum Support Price (MSP) delivery.

Targeting tribal and coastal development, Modi introduced the Dharati Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan and PM Janman Yojana, alongside a Rs 25,000 crore coastal development fund to boost fisheries and the blue economy.

He also expanded benefits under the PM Vaya Vandana Yojana for senior citizens.

Under the ambitious “Purvoday” industrial vision, the Prime Minister laid out plans for petrochemical and energy infrastructure, including a dual-feed cracker at Paradip and a crude oil storage facility at Chandikhole—part of a Rs 1.5 lakh crore industrial investment push to position Odisha as a national economic hub.

Closing the ceremony, PM Modi launched Odisha’s Vision 2036—celebrating 100 years of its linguistic identity—and previewed Vision 2047, India’s centenary independence blueprint, inspiring youth to lead the state’s transformative journey.
