PM Modi Hailed as Youth Icon by CM Majhi at Jharsuguda Rally

Jharsuguda, Odisha — In a high-energy youth rally at Amalipali, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended a rousing welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling the day a “festival” for the state’s 4.5 crore citizens.

The event, held during the ‘Seva Paksha’ observance, spotlighted Modi’s leadership and Odisha’s accelerating development under his vision.

Majhi began by invoking Lord Jagannath and reminisced about the inauguration of Veer Surendra Sai Airport by Modi in 2017, a milestone that catalysed growth in western Odisha. He hailed Modi’s birthday on September 17 as symbolic of decades of national service, aligning it with the spirit of ‘Seva Paksha’—a fortnight dedicated to service.

Calling Modi the “biggest youth icon” since 2014, Majhi credited him with inspiring India’s youth through initiatives focused on empowerment, national security, and inclusive development. He referenced ‘Operation Sindoor’ and the Balakot airstrikes, underscoring Modi’s decisive leadership.

Majhi also highlighted Modi’s deep connection with Odisha, citing seven visits since the new government took office. He praised the Subhadra Yojana, which provides Rs 10,000 annual aid to over one crore women, and recalled Modi’s heartfelt gesture of accepting milk from an Adivasi woman on his birthday.

Environmental efforts were also spotlighted, with Majhi celebrating the success of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, which saw 1.5 crore trees planted—double the original target.

The rally also previewed a slew of upcoming projects:

  • Amrit Bharat train from Berhampur to Surat
  • Semiconductor park
  • Super-specialty upgrades to MKCG and VIMSAR hospitals
  • Port-based SEZ in Ganjam
  • 50,000 Antyodaya houses for the poor

Majhi lauded the ‘Next Generation GST Reforms’ as a Navratri “double bonanza,” enabling savings for Odishans during Durga Puja. He affirmed Odisha’s alignment with Modi’s mantra: “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas aur Sabka Prayas.”

With Rs 2 lakh crore invested in 84 industrial projects and 1.64 lakh jobs created in just 7.5 months, Majhi echoed Modi’s rallying cry: “Yeh hi samay hai, sahi samay hai.”

Closing with Modi’s emotional poem from Churu, Rajasthan, Majhi urged youth to embrace the vision of a developed India by 2047. The rally, packed with thousands of energised attendees, reinforced Odisha’s growing synergy with central leadership.
