Pawan Singh Opts Out of Bihar Assembly Race, Reaffirms Loyalty to BJP

Bhojpuri actor and political aspirant Pawan Singh announced on Saturday that he will not contest the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.

In a post on X, Singh emphasized his unwavering commitment to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), calling himself a “true soldier” of the party. He clarified that his association with the BJP was not driven by the pursuit of an election ticket.

The announcement comes amid speculation following Singh’s recent meetings with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) chief Upendra Kushwaha.

Rumours had suggested Singh might contest from Ara or Barhara in Bhojpur district, but he dismissed those claims.

Singh previously ran as an Independent candidate from Karakat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where he lost to CPI(ML) Liberation’s Raja Ram Kushwaha.

Meanwhile, Singh’s wife Jyoti Singh has stirred political curiosity after meeting strategist Prashant Kishor in Patna.

Although Kishor denied any political discussions, citing personal matters, Jyoti’s outreach to multiple leaders in recent months has fueled speculation about her potential entry into politics via Jan Suraaj.

Adding to the drama, Jyoti’s visit to Pawan Singh’s Lucknow residence led to police intervention after she alleged harassment and threats of eviction in a video post.

The couple’s strained relationship continues to attract public attention, intertwining personal tensions with political intrigue.
