Paradip to Become Odisha’s Next Sports Hub | Odisha Govt Approves Sports Complex
Paradip is set to emerge as Odisha’s next major sports destination, with the state government approving plans for a multi‑disciplinary sports complex.
The project includes a multi‑purpose indoor stadium with gallery seating and a 25‑meter swimming pool at Udayabata in Kujang block.
Officials have been directed to identify at least five acres of encroachment‑free government land for the development.
Minister Samapad Chandra Swain has emphasised the need to expand the project further by adding floodlights, larger galleries, multiple sports disciplines, and a cricket ground.
This initiative follows recent approvals for block‑level stadiums in Kujang and Tirtol, signalling Odisha’s commitment to nurturing grassroots talent and strengthening its sports infrastructure.
For Paradip residents, the announcement fulfils a long‑standing demand and aligns with the state’s vision of becoming a prosperous, sports‑driven hub.
