Paper leak undermines public faith in exam, recruitment procedures: Odisha Court while rejecting bail of accused
Bhubaneswar, Aug 23 (UNI) The 3rd Additional Sessions Judge, Cuttack today rejected the bail application of the accused persons arrested for masterminding the paper leak of Odisha Special Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) -2025 examination, observing that “these types of offences severely undermine public faith in government-conducted examinations and recruitment procedures creating widespread disillusionment and loss of institutional credibility”.
It may be recalled here that the Crime Branch of Odisha police had earlier nabbed eight persons including vice president of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) and school teachers for the paper leak of the exam scheduled to be held on July 20.
The Government later postponed the exam till further orders as the papers went viral in social media platforms a day before the scheduled date of the examination. ”
The act of the accused persons damaged the future of deserving candidates and demoralized lakhs of genuine aspirants thereby destroying their bright future,” the Court said, adding that “such manipulation in teacher eligibility tests corrodes the education system and has long-term negative implications on the quality of education and nation building”.
In the present society, the unemployment problem is a headache for all youth generations. Without getting any job, youths are compelled to advert to cultivation and small business for their livelihood.
If they will be victims of these types of unscrupulous people like that of the accused petitioners, then certainly they will lose faith in the system and will be mentally harassed, the Court observed while rejecting the bail application.
