Pandian reveals Chief Minister’s decade of youth vision for Odisha

Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), May 23: On Thursday, BJD leader and 5T Chairman V K Pandian announced Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s vision to empower the youth and build a new Odisha by 2034.

Referring to the period between 2024 and 2034 as the “decade of the youth,” Patnaik aims to prepare the state’s youth to be globally competitive. To achieve this goal, he has allocated Rs 10,000 crore annually towards a dedicated youth budget, a first-of-its-kind initiative in India.

Pandian highlighted that even Bill Gates was astonished by this innovative approach, as no other country has implemented such a budget dedicated solely to the youth. The youth budget will focus on providing world-class higher education facilities and attracting top institutions to Odisha.

The state also aims to elevate its “Skilled in Odisha” initiative into a globally recognized brand, emphasizing skill development and attracting investments in technology, manufacturing, and services to create employment opportunities for the youth.

Furthermore, Pandian revealed that efforts are underway to revamp the entire education system of Odisha, including professional colleges and technical institutions, to make them globally competitive. This initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to nurturing a skilled and empowered youth population to drive Odisha’s growth and development in the years to come.
