Padma Shri 2026: Four Odisha Personalities Honoured for Literature & Art
Bhubaneswar: Odisha has once again made its mark on the national stage as four eminent personalities from the state have been conferred with the prestigious Padma Shri award in 2026.
The honorees include Charan Hembram and Mahendra Kumar Mishra in the field of Literature & Education, and Sarat Kumar Patra and Simanchal Patro in the field of Art.
Their recognition highlights Odisha’s rich contributions to literature, education, and traditional art forms, reinforcing the state’s cultural legacy.
The announcement was made on the eve of Republic Day, adding to the celebratory spirit across the nation.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated the awardees, calling their achievement a matter of pride for Odisha.
With a total of 131 recipients across Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri categories this year, the awards continue to showcase India’s diverse talent and heritage.
The honour bestowed upon these Odia legends is not only a recognition of their lifelong dedication but also an inspiration for future generations to preserve and promote the state’s cultural identity.
