Over 400 Pouches of Toxic Liquor Seized in Kalahandi, Accused Absconding
Kalahandi: In a major crackdown on the illicit liquor trade, Karlamunda police seized 404 pouches of toxic country liquor during a raid in Dipupada village under Risida outpost.
Acting on a tip-off from locals, the police intercepted the illegal consignment and registered Case No. 312.
The operation was led by Risida outpost officer Manua Bidika, supported by constable Sunil Kumar Bag and home guard Chakamana Bhoi.
Villagers played a crucial role in assisting the police, highlighting strong community involvement in curbing illegal liquor activities.
The accused, Anup Kaonr of Porakela village, fled the scene and remains absconding.
Authorities confirmed that the liquor was being smuggled from outside the district and posed serious health risks to consumers.
Police assured that strict measures will continue against illegal liquor operations in the region, and efforts are underway to apprehend the absconding accused.
