Over 1.24 Crore Women in Odisha to Receive Raksha Bandhan Gift Under Subhadra Yojana

(OT Webdesk)In a significant move ahead of Raksha Bandhan, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced that over 1.24 crore women beneficiaries will receive financial assistance under the Subhadra Yojana.

This festive installment, described as a Raksha Bandhan gift from Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, will be disbursed on August 9 from Jeypore in Koraput district.

The Subhadra Yojana, aimed at empowering women through direct financial support, has faced implementation challenges. Over 1.83 lakh women were excluded from the second installment, prompting the government to assure corrective measures.

Parida emphasized that all eligible women will be covered in phases, including those in border areas like Kotia, where the CM will personally review the scheme’s rollout.

This announcement reinforces the Odisha government’s commitment to inclusive welfare and timely delivery of benefits, especially during culturally significant occasions.
