OTET Paper Leak Scandal Deepens: Seventh Arrest Made in Odisha

(OT Webdesk)In a major breakthrough in the Special OTET-2025 question paper leak case, the CID Crime Branch of Odisha has arrested Prasant Kumar Khamari, a government teacher from Kalahandi.

Khamari allegedly conspired with senior members of the Ex-Cadre Teachers Association and a data entry operator from the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) to leak the exam paper ahead of its scheduled date.

Investigators revealed that Khamari obtained a computerised version of the paper, transcribed it by hand to mimic authenticity, and sold it to vulnerable teachers who had previously failed the exam.

A PhonePe transaction of Rs 99,000 linked to co-accused Bijay Kumar Mishra has further exposed the financial trail behind the scam.

Authorities have seized Khamari’s mobile phone and collected handwriting samples for forensic analysis. With this arrest, the total number of individuals held in connection with the leak has risen to seven.

The Crime Branch continues its probe, signalling a strong crackdown on exam malpractice in Odisha’s education system.
