OSCSC Junior Accountant Arrested for Disproportionate Assets

Bhubaneswar, Dec 23: Odisha Vigilance officials have arrested Rabindra Kumar Barik, a Junior Accountant with the Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation (OSCSC) Ltd, Sundargarh, for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets worth crores.

During simultaneous searches at his properties, investigators uncovered a multi‑storeyed building, a market complex with a gym, a Kalyan Mandap in Balasore, a building in Baripada, four valuable plots in Balasore, 175 grams of gold, and deposits amounting to Rs 43.81 lakh. Barik reportedly failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for these assets.

A case has been registered against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act (Balasore Vigilance PS Case No. 19/2025). The probe is ongoing, with authorities examining the full extent of his financial irregularities.

This arrest underscores Odisha Vigilance’s intensified crackdown on corruption within state departments, sending a strong message about accountability and transparency in public service.
