Acting on the directives of SP Mukesh Bhamu, multiple independent teams carried out coordinated raids across the district, targeting criminal networks involved in weapons and drug trafficking.

According to Sambalpur DIB officer Shashank Beura, the operation yielded significant seizures, including two country‑made pistols, a 12 mm bore double‑barrel gun, ten live bullets, and one empty cartridge.

In parallel, police registered four narcotics cases, arresting twelve individuals and confiscating 116 grams of brown sugar, 54.23 kg of ganja, nine mobile phones, a Tata Ace vehicle, a scooter, and Rs 600 in cash.

Since December 17, two arms smuggling cases have been registered, leading to the arrest of three accused.

Statewide, Operation Dharpagad has expanded its reach, with police registering 27 cases against arms traffickers, seizing 36 guns, 71 bullets, and 62 sharp weapons, while arresting 27 offenders.
