Odisha’s night temperatures dip significantly, several areas below 7°C


Bhubaneswar, (Orissa today), Nov 19: Night temperatures in Odisha dropped significantly over the last 24 hours, with several areas experiencing temperatures below 7°C, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). G Udayagiri in Kandhamal recorded the coldest temperature at 6.6°C, followed by Semiliguda in Koraput at 9.3°C. Other chilly spots included Phulbani and Daringbadi in Kandhamal at 10°C and 10.5°C respectively, and Rourkela at 11.9°C.
Several other districts also saw a sharp drop in temperatures. Jharsuguda recorded 12.2°C, and Angul saw a dip of 4.7°C, settling at 12.8°C. Bhawanipatna, Chiplima, Nabarangpur, Kirei, Sundargarh, Bhadrak, Balangir, and Rayagada all experienced temperatures below 15°C, with some areas dropping to as low as 13°C to 14°C.
Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded minimum temperatures of 16.1°C and 16°C respectively, showing a slight decrease from the previous day.
The IMD has also forecast shallow to moderate fog in some places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Keonjhar from November 19-20. There is no significant change expected in the minimum temperatures over the next five days.
