Odisha’s Badminton Sisters Meet CM Majhi Ahead of Paris Championship
(OT Webdesk)In a proud moment for Odisha’s sporting legacy, sibling badminton duo Rituparna Panda and Swetaparna Panda met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi ahead of their international debut at the Paris World Badminton Championship, scheduled from August 25 to 31.
The sisters, India’s first sibling pair to represent the country in badminton at a global event, received warm wishes and encouragement from CM Majhi during their visit to Lok Seva Bhawan. “This is a proud moment for Odisha. Rituparna and Swetaparna have not only made the state proud but are also inspiring countless young athletes,” the Chief Minister said.
Known for their synchronised gameplay and rigorous training, the Panda sisters expressed gratitude for the support and promised to give their best performance in Paris.
Their participation marks a significant milestone for sibling athletes in Indian badminton, setting a precedent for future generations.
