Odisha’s Ama Sathi WhatsApp BOT Bags National Tech Award
Odisha has been honoured with the prestigious Technology Sabha Excellence Award for its innovative citizen-centric initiative, the Ama Sathi Unified WhatsApp BOT.
The award was presented on 27 February 2026 at the Technology Sabha event in Hyderabad, organised by Express Computer of the Indian Express Group.
The recognition highlights Odisha’s commitment to digital governance, with the BOT designed to simplify access to government services through a single WhatsApp number (9437292000).
Citizens can avail services such as certificates, scheme applications, and revenue queries in both Odia and English, eliminating the need for multiple apps or physical visits.
Surendra Kumar Meena, IAS, Executive Director of CMGI, accepted the award and emphasised that the BOT represents Odisha’s vision of “doorstep governance”, enhancing accessibility, transparency, and trust.
The initiative is expected to benefit over 4.5 crore residents, positioning Odisha as a frontrunner in digital transformation.
