Odisha Weather Forecast: Dry Spell with Scattered Rain and Thunderstorms Ahead

Temperatures across Odisha are set to rise as the state heads into a largely dry phase beginning this week.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that while most districts will experience dry conditions from March 23 to 25, scattered rainfall is expected in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, and Keonjhar until March 25.

In the past 24 hours, Baripada recorded the highest rainfall at 26 cm, while Dhenkanal registered the highest maximum temperature at 36.1°C.

Looking ahead, thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds of 30–40 kmph are likely in Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, and Nabarangpur on March 26.

The IMD has issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall between March 26 and 28.

Temperatures are expected to climb again from April 1 onwards, signalling the onset of hotter days across the state.
