Odisha Water Resources Department Charts Roadmap for Vision 2036 & 2047
Bhubaneswar: The Water Resources Department of Odisha held a high‑level performance review meeting chaired by Principal Secretary Shubha Sharma to assess ongoing projects and future targets.
The meeting focused on the progress of initiatives aligned with the Chief Minister’s 15‑point guidelines, while also setting clear milestones for 12‑ and 24‑month targets under Vision 2036 and Vision 2047.
Officials reviewed budget outcomes, industrial MoUs, and training schedules under Mission Karmayogi.
Key directives included ensuring optimal fund utilisation to expand irrigation potential, issuing official communications in Odia, updating the departmental website, and strengthening grievance redressal mechanisms.
Senior officials, including Engineer‑in‑Chief Sagar Mohanti and other chief engineers, participated in the review, highlighting priorities such as climate resilience, flood control, irrigation expansion, and sustainable infrastructure development.
The department reaffirmed its commitment to building a resilient water management system that supports both agricultural growth and industrial development in Odisha.
