Odisha Water Resources Department Charts Faster Path to Developed Odisha 2036 Goals
Bhubaneswar: In a high‑level review meeting chaired by Shubha Sharma, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Water Resources Department, officials outlined a fast‑track strategy to align with the Developed Odisha 2036 vision.
Key decisions included expediting departmental expenditure, filling critical vacancies, and introducing simple yet effective Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress.
The department also emphasised mentoring young engineers to build future leadership capacity and strengthening the Design Wing to enhance project planning and execution.
Senior officers and Chief Engineers, including Sagar Mohanty, participated in the meeting, underscoring the department’s commitment to institutional strengthening and long‑term water security.
The initiatives aim to optimise resources, improve efficiency, and ensure robust infrastructure development across Odisha.
