Bhubaneswar, May 29, ( OT Webdesk): Odisha Vigilance officials have unearthed significant assets allegedly acquired through illicit means by Sahadev Kisan, the Superintending Engineer of the Public Health Division in Rayagada.
Acting on intelligence, vigilance officers intercepted Kisan while he was carrying Rs 1.5 lakh in suspected ill-got cash.
Subsequently, simultaneous searches were conducted at his properties in Rayagada and Sambalpur, uncovering an array of high-value assets.
Investigators found:
- Two high-value plots
- Gold ornaments weighing 100 grams
- Household assets worth Rs 10 lakh
- Bank deposits, insurance investments, and mutual funds totalling nearly Rs 50 lakh
Kisan, who began his career as Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) in 2016, rose to the rank of Superintending Engineer in March 2025.
Authorities are now probing whether his accumulated wealth is disproportionate to his known sources of income.
As investigations continue, further revelations in this high-profile vigilance case are expected.
