Sambalpur, June 12, (OT Webdesk)In a major crackdown on corruption, Odisha Vigilance arrested Bhisma Pradhan, Revenue Inspector (RI) of Goudpalli Revenue Circle, Jamankira Tahasil, Sambalpur, for accepting a Rs 40,000 bribe.

The sting operation was conducted after the complainant, a landless individual seeking a favourable report for a lease case and Record of Rights (ROR) for his family, informed the authorities about the demand for bribes.

Odisha Vigilance officials caught Pradhan red-handed while accepting the bribe, leading to the immediate recovery and seizure of the amount.

Further searches at his properties are underway to investigate potential disproportionate assets.

The accused has been booked under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (amended in 2018), and authorities promise a thorough inquiry to ensure justice.

This operation underscores Odisha Vigilance’s commitment to rooting out corruption and ensuring transparency in governance.
