Odisha Vigilance Seizes ₹1.27 Crore Assets of Ex‑Engineer

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move against corruption, the Confiscation Court in Bhubaneswar has ordered the seizure of assets worth over Rs 1.27 crore belonging to former Executive Engineer Prafulla Kumar Panigrahi.

The confiscated properties include a multi‑storeyed building in Tulasi Nagar, Berhampur, and three plots in Rajendra Nagar Sahi, Tulasi Nagar, Berhampur (Ganjam district).

Panigrahi was charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Following a charge sheet filed by Odisha Vigilance, he was convicted by the Special Vigilance Court in Bhubaneswar on March 31, 2014.

This confiscation marks the culmination of a long legal process and highlights Odisha’s continued commitment to tackling corruption and ensuring accountability in public service.
