Odisha Vigilance Raids Irrigation Engineer’s Properties Over DA Charges

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Saturday launched simultaneous raids at seven locations linked to Pramod Ray, Assistant Executive Engineer of Derabish Irrigation Sub‑Division in Kendrapara, on allegations of possessing disproportionate assets (DA).

Acting on warrants issued by the Special Judge Vigilance, Cuttack, a team comprising 2 Additional SPs, 9 DSPs, 9 Inspectors, 4 ASIs, and supporting staff searched Ray’s residences and offices across Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, and Dhenkanal.

Key properties under scrutiny include a four‑storey residential building in Johala (Bhubaneswar), a double‑storey house in Chaudwar (Cuttack), his ancestral home in Ragadi (Banki), and his office chamber at Derabish Irrigation Office.

Residences of relatives in Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, and Patia (Bhubaneswar) were also covered.

The raids are ongoing, and officials are expected to release details of assets seized after completion of the operation.
