Odisha Vigilance Raids Five Locations Linked to Irrigation SDO

Odisha Vigilance on Thursday carried out simultaneous raids at five locations connected to Panchu Behera, Sub‑Divisional Officer (SDO) of Daha Irrigation Sub‑Division in Ganjam district, following allegations of disproportionate assets.

The searches, conducted under warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur, covered Behera’s triple‑storeyed residence at Basant Vihar, his government quarter and office chamber in Bhanjanagar, his paternal house at Polasara, and a relative’s residence at Bima Nagar, Berhampur.

Preliminary findings revealed a three‑storey building measuring 3,550 sq ft, five valuable plots around Berhampur, cash worth Rs 18.9 lakh, a concrete mixer machine valued at Rs 57 lakh, a JCB machine worth Rs 37 lakh, one Hyundai i20 car, three two‑wheelers, gold ornaments, and multiple bank and postal deposits.

The Vigilance department stated that the valuation of seized assets is ongoing.

The raids form part of Odisha Vigilance’s intensified anti‑corruption drive aimed at exposing assets beyond known sources of income.
