Odisha Vigilance Intensifies Crackdown: 230 Officials Booked, 102 Convicted

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s vigilance department has stepped up its anti‑corruption drive, registering 230 cases against government officials between April 2025 and March 2026.

Among those named, 52 were first‑class officers, and 41 were second‑class officers.

Trials were completed in 206 cases, leading to 102 convictions.

Following proven charges, 23 government employees were dismissed from service. Vigilance officials also seized Rs 10.27 crore in cash and confiscated properties worth Rs 4.76 crore, taking the total recovery to nearly Rs 15 crore.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reiterated the government’s commitment to transparency, stating that vigilance operations will continue to punish guilty officials and safeguard public resources.

This marks one of the most significant anti‑corruption crackdowns in recent years, underscoring Odisha’s resolve to strengthen accountability in governance.
