Odisha Vigilance Cracks Down on Corruption: 20 Police Officers Booked in 18 Months
Odisha’s anti-corruption drive has intensified, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi revealing in the Assembly that vigilance officials booked 20 police officers for bribery over the past 18 months.
During the same period, 271 government officials across departments were arrested, and vigilance courts convicted 174 of them.
The crackdown has led to 33 officials losing their jobs and pensions being stopped for 65 others.
Majhi emphasised that the government’s campaign against corruption will remain “relentless and uncompromising,” ensuring accountability at every level.
His statement came in response to a question from MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati, who sought details of disciplinary actions against erring officials.
The government’s firm stance sends a clear message: misconduct will not be tolerated, and transparency in governance is non-negotiable.
