Odisha Vigilance apprehends Khandapada NAC Executive Officer for accepting Rs 20k Bribe

Bhubaneswar, May 16 (UNI) Niranjan Dhal, Executive Officer of Khandapada NAC, was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance on Friday while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 20,000 from a contractor.

The Executive Officer received the bribe at his government residential quarters, where he was caught red-handed by Vigilance officials.
The entire bribe amount has been recovered from Dhal’s possession and seized.

Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are underway at five locations linked to Dhal, focusing on Disproportionate Assets (DA).

A Vigilance case has been registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.

Investigation against the accused, Niranjan Dhal, is currently in progress, Vigilance sources said.
