Odisha Urban Conclave 2025 Concludes with Bold Vision for Global-Grade Cities

The two-day Odisha Urban Conclave 2025, hosted by the Housing & Urban Development Department, wrapped up with a resounding call for vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable urban growth across the state.

Delivering the valedictory address, Principal Secretary Smt. Usha Padhee outlined Odisha’s ambitious roadmap to elevate Bhubaneswar and Rourkela into the top 100 global cities.

She emphasised the importance of leveraging smart city experience, attracting private investment, and optimising human and technological resources to realise the twin visions of Viksit Odisha – 2036 and Viksit Bharat – 2047.

Smt. Padhee urged urban functionaries to embrace collaborative governance and citizen-centric planning, ensuring seamless project execution and improved service delivery.

Director of Municipal Administration, Shri Arindam Dakua, spotlighted flagship initiatives, including:

  • Mukhyamantri Saharika Basera Yojana (MSBY)
  • AMRUT
  • Pothole-Free Urban Odisha
  • Pedestrian Path Development
  • Strengthening Own Source Revenue (OSR)

The conclave featured thematic sessions on Urban Housing, Water Supply, Sanitation, and Infrastructure Development, showcasing best practices from PMAY-U, SUJAL Mission, SBM(U), and GARIMA.

Outstanding Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and officers were felicitated for innovative contributions toward cleaner, greener, and more inclusive cities.

The event concluded with a unified pledge from stakeholders to build a “Vibrant Urban Odisha” through innovation, citizen partnership, and sustainable urban governance.
