Bhubaneswar, July 25 (OT Webdesk)— In a landmark move to transform Eastern India’s textile landscape, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated Odisha TEX 2025, unveiling Rs 7,808 crore in investments through 33 MoUs and announcing six new textile parks across the state.
The event, attended by over 650 delegates and 160 companies, including Page Industries, KPR Mills, and Bon & Co., showcased Odisha’s ambition to become a national textile hub.
The new parks will be developed in Bolangir, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Jatsinghpur, Ganjam, and Cuttack, with a goal to generate over 1 lakh jobs by 2030.
Employment subsidies were also increased under the Odisha Technical Textile & Apparel Policy 2022—Rs 6,000/month for male workers and Rs 7,000/month for female workers.
The CM announced that Odisha TEX will now be an annual event, celebrating both modern textile innovation and the state’s rich handloom heritage.
A dedicated Task Force has been formed to fast-track implementation and support investors, backed by Odisha’s Industrial Policy Resolution 2022 and robust infrastructure. Ministers highlighted the state’s competitive edge in raw material availability, port connectivity, and skill-linked courses.
Odisha’s dual focus on modern textiles and traditional handlooms promises inclusive growth, sustainable development, and a future-ready textile ecosystem.
