Odisha Unveils Multi-Pronged Tourism Promotion Plan to Boost Travel Industry
The Odisha government has announced an ambitious tourism promotion strategy aimed at positioning the state as a premier travel destination.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida outlined the plan in the Assembly, highlighting a mix of digital campaigns, outdoor branding, media outreach, and participation in national and international tourism fairs.
The initiative will spotlight iconic destinations such as Puri, Konark, Bhubaneswar, Chilika Lake, Similipal, and Sunabeda, while also developing new tourism circuits.
Special emphasis will be placed on upgrading the Puri-Konark-Bhubaneswar triangle, wildlife sanctuaries, and spiritual sites.
Promotional efforts will span social media platforms, radio jingles, TV commercials, documentaries, and print materials.
Roadshows and familiarisation trips for travel agents are also planned to boost visibility.
MLA Dhruba Charan Sahoo welcomed the move but urged the government to monitor quality and ensure tangible impact.
With increased allocations for 2025–26, Odisha aims to strengthen its tourism industry and contribute significantly to the state’s economy.
