The initiative aims to empower rural households, women, and local entrepreneurs by offering tourists authentic cultural immersion through homestays.

The portal provides a streamlined digital platform for registration, document uploads, approvals, visitor management, and compliance monitoring, ensuring transparency and ease of doing business.

The launch event featured demonstrations by the technical team, expert sessions from Homestays of India and Svanir Wilderness Homestay, and panel discussions with experienced homestay owners.

Officials also outlined district‑level responsibilities and action plans to expand the homestay ecosystem across Odisha.

Key dignitaries present included Balwant Singh, Commissioner‑cum‑Secretary, Department of Tourism; Deepankar Mohapatra, Director, Tourism; and Monica Priyadarshini, State Mission Director‑cum‑CEO, OLM.

The workshop brought together district officials, financial institutions, PRI members, and homestay operators to chart a roadmap for sustainable tourism growth.
