Odisha UG, PG Admissions to Begin Early | New Academic Session July 2026
The Higher Education Department of Odisha has announced that undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) admissions will commence earlier than usual, with the new academic session beginning in the second week of July 2026.
To streamline the process, the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET) will also be conducted ahead of schedule.
Universities and colleges have been directed to complete final semester UG examinations by April 30, 2026, ensuring that results are declared within one month.
Officials emphasised that delays will not be tolerated, as they could disrupt the admission cycle and affect students applying to PG programs and central universities.
The move is aimed at reducing uncertainty, aligning Odisha’s academic calendar with national standards, and supporting students in planning their higher education smoothly.
