Odisha tops fund utilization under PMKSY scheme
Bhubaneswar, Aug 21 (UNI) Odisha has emerged as the best-performing state in fund utilization under the Watershed Development Component of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) 2.0.
The state secured the top rank with 83 percent of the allocated funds utilized since the inception of the project. The scheme, which runs from FY 2021-22 to 2025-26, has a total outlay of Rs.759.27 crore, shared in a 60:40 ratio between the Centre and the State.
The achievement came to light during a review meeting of WDC-PMKSY 2.0 projects across all states and the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
The meeting was chaired by Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan through video conferencing.
Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo presented the state’s performance before the Union Minister.
Singh Deo also informed that seven additional projects have been sanctioned under WDC-PMKSY 2.0 for FY 2025-26, covering 30,212 hectares of land with a total outlay of Rs.82.10 crore.
These projects aim to enhance the productive potential of rainfed and degraded land through integrated watershed management,he stated.
Union Minister Chouhan praised the Odisha government for its effective utilization of funds under WDC-PMKSY 2.0.
