
Odisha to Host 2nd National Mediation Conference, Elevating Dialogue Over Disputes
Bhubaneswar, August 22(OT Webdesk) — Odisha is set to host the second edition of the National Mediation Conference on September 28, positioning itself at the forefront of judicial innovation and alternative dispute resolution in India.
Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan announced the event, emphasising its significance in promoting mediation as a primary tool to reduce litigation and ease the burden on courts.
The conference, previously held in New Delhi, will now bring national attention to Bhubaneswar, with preparations underway at both administrative and judicial levels.
High-level meetings have already commenced between the Orissa High Court and the state secretariat. Invitations have been extended to the President of India, the Chief Justice of India, and the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, underscoring the event’s stature.
Key discussions will center on streamlining the Mediation Act and making its provisions more accessible to the public. The initiative aligns with broader national efforts to foster a culture of dialogue, resolution, and faster justice delivery.
