Odisha to Appoint Nursing Officers, Radiographers for Better Patient Care
Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to bolster the state’s healthcare infrastructure, the Odisha government has approved the creation of 6,229 new posts across medical institutions.
The decision, announced by Health & Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, aims to address manpower shortages and improve patient services in government hospitals.
Of the sanctioned posts, 5,989 are for nursing officers and 240 for radiographers.
The addition of nursing officers is expected to enhance bedside care and patient management, while the recruitment of radiographers will strengthen diagnostic facilities, particularly in district and sub-divisional hospitals where shortages have been acute.
Dr. Mahaling emphasized that the government remains committed to ensuring accessible and efficient healthcare for all citizens.
He expressed confidence that the appointments will significantly improve service delivery and reduce patient load pressures in public hospitals.
The Health Department will soon issue detailed recruitment guidelines, including examination procedures, training modules, and posting instructions.
This large-scale recruitment drive is seen as a crucial step toward modernizing Odisha’s healthcare system and meeting the growing demands of its population.
