Odisha to adopt Terrazyme for eco-friendly roads in forest & biodiversity zones: Minister

Bhubaneswar, Sep 17 (UNI) The Odisha Government is planning to build durable and eco-friendly roads using the innovative bio-enzymatic soil stabiliser Terrazyme, State Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan said
The Minister directed officials of the Works Department and Odisha Bridge & Construction Corporation (OBCC) to prepare a detailed report on the potential application of Terrazyme in
road construction within forest and biodiversity regions and submit it to the government.

Terrazyme is a natural, non-toxic, and organic liquid made from plant extracts.

By using this bio-enzymatic soil stabilizer, roads become stronger, more durable, and enhance
the quality of local soil. Construction costs are also considerably lower compared to conventional methods using stone, gravel, cement, and bitumen.

A review meeting chaired by Minister Harichandan discussed the cost-effectiveness, durability, and environmental benefits of adopting Terrazyme.

Officials noted that eco-friendly roads constructed with this technology reduce excessive heat, curb carbon emissions, and help control dust pollution.

Such roads are especially suited for forest and biodiversity areas, though they can also be effectively implemented in other regions, the meeting concluded.
