Odisha temperature rise IMD forecast
Bhubaneswar: The lingering winter chill in Odisha is set to ease as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a gradual rise in night temperatures across the state.
According to IMD data, G. Udaygiri in Kandhamal district recorded the lowest temperature at 4.8°C in the past 24 hours, while six other cities dipped below 10°C. However, minimum temperatures are expected to climb by 2–3°C over the next two days, signalling milder nights ahead.
The IMD has ruled out fog formation, noting clear conditions across the state.
With above‑normal minimum temperatures already being reported in several districts, residents can expect warmer nights as winter draws to a close.
This warming trend is likely to be felt more prominently in coastal and southern Odisha, where the chill has lingered longer.
The forecast suggests a dry spell for the next seven days, further reinforcing the transition toward spring‑like conditions.
