Odisha takes steps to address application rejections under Subhadra Yojana

Bhubaneswar, Nov 1: The Odisha government is actively working on new guidelines for the Subhadra Yojana, aimed at ensuring that all eligible women can access the benefits of the scheme. These updated guidelines will address the issues surrounding the rejection of numerous applications from women on various grounds.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced that the new framework is intended to maximize the number of beneficiaries under the Subhadra Yojana. A high-level meeting is scheduled for Friday afternoon to discuss the matter further.
During the meeting, officials will review a list of 2.67 lakh rejected applicants and decide on the procedures for scrutinizing and verifying these applications. Parida emphasized that the goal is to include those whose applications were previously denied.
Additionally, the Deputy Chief Minister indicated that the first installment of funds for the third phase of the Subhadra Yojana will be released soon. Although a specific date has not yet been announced, all beneficiaries who were excluded in the earlier phases will receive ₹5,000 in this upcoming phase.
