(OT webdesk)In a decisive push toward rural infrastructure development, the Odisha government has unveiled plans to construct between 30,000 and 40,000 kilometres of roads by 2036.

Rural Development Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, during a recent departmental review, emphasised that delays in project execution will not be tolerated.

Under the Setu Bandhan Yojana, the state also aims to build 500 new bridges to enhance connectivity in remote regions. Minister Naik issued a stern warning to senior officials, stating that failure to meet deadlines will invite departmental action.

He stressed that timely execution is not just a goal but a responsibility.

This infrastructure overhaul is expected to significantly improve access and mobility across Odisha’s rural landscape, aligning with the government’s long-term development vision.
