Odisha Secretaries Set Out on Statewide Tours to Strengthen Grassroots Governance

Odisha Secretaries tour for grassroots governance

(OT Webdesk)In a major administrative push, the Odisha government has directed senior bureaucrats and Secretaries to conduct extensive tours across districts to ensure the efficient rollout of welfare schemes and assess local development.

As per fresh directives from the Development Commissioner’s office, the visits will take place between June and August.

Secretaries from various departments will spend 2–3 days in each assigned district, closely monitoring service delivery at the panchayat and block levels.

Their engagement includes participating in mid-day meals at SC/ST hostels, inspecting healthcare centres, and evaluating hygiene and infrastructure in tribal schools and hostels.

A significant emphasis has been placed on the 29 identified aspirational blocks spread over 19 districts.

These immersion visits are designed to bridge gaps between policy formulation and grassroots execution, while also strengthening accountability in governance.

Secretaries will collaborate with local Collectors to adapt strategies for maximum community impact.

This initiative reflects Odisha’s broader aim of fostering inclusive governance and building public trust by directly connecting top officials with rural realities.
