Odisha Road Projects Review: Ring Road, Kandarpur Link Among Top Priorities
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has intensified efforts to strengthen the state’s transport infrastructure, with a high‑level review meeting chaired by Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh.
Senior officials, including Engineer‑in‑Chief Lakshmikant Padhi and Regional Officer Sunil Kumar, attended the session, which focused on expediting land acquisition, clearances, and project execution.
Among the priority projects is the 111‑km Capital Region Ring Road around Bhubaneswar, aimed at easing congestion and improving regional connectivity.
The meeting also highlighted the proposed Greenfield Road linking Dhakulei Peetha to Kandarpur, which will connect Bhubaneswar with Jagatsinghpur and Paradip while bypassing Cuttack to reduce travel distance.
Other projects under review include the 206‑km Koraput–Mohana Road, where widening and land acquisition are key concerns, and the Khordha–Nayagarh Road, slated for strict upgradation as per the approved DPR.
Officials emphasised that these projects align with the vision of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Minister Prithviraj Harichandan to create a robust, state‑wide road network that supports economic growth and regional development.
