Odisha Revenue Minister to Visit Flood-Hit Jajpur, Promises Swift Relief Measures
(OT Webdesk)Jajpur district in Odisha is reeling under severe flood conditions following a 60-foot breach in the Kani river embankment, affecting 46 villages across 14 panchayats.
Villages such as Mallikapur, Kasapa, Mahantipatna, and Khananagar are submerged, forcing residents to seek shelter on rooftops and in school buildings.
In response, Odisha’s Revenue and Disaster Management Minister is set to visit the flood-hit areas for an on-ground assessment.

This marks the third major flood in the region this year, leaving communities in Arjunpur and Hasanabad in a state of recurring crisis.
The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall over the next four days due to a developing low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal.
Yellow warnings have been issued for several districts, and fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into the sea until August 29.
