Odisha releases first cut-off list for UG courses, Ravenshaw leads

Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), June 26: The Higher Education Department of Odisha has released the first cut-off list for undergraduate (Plus-3) courses across various colleges, with Ravenshaw University leading with the highest cut-off marks in all four streams. The stream-wise merit list for the initial phase of admissions to approximately 1,051 degree colleges was unveiled on Tuesday. Out of 2,37,795 applicants, 1,78,976 students have been selected for the first phase of admissions, including 72,556 male students, 1,06,414 females, and six transgender students.

Among the selected students, 45,614 are for the Science stream, 1,09,854 for Arts, 17,156 for Commerce, 3,574 for Shastri, 2,626 for self-financing courses, and 152 for Law. The total sanctioned seat capacity stands at 2,74,331.

Ravenshaw University set the highest cut-off rates across Arts, Physical Science, Biological Science, and Commerce. For instance, the highest cut-off in Arts was 89.67% for Geography, while in Physical Science and Biological Science, it reached 91.17% for Physics and 93.20% for Zoology, respectively. In Commerce, the university recorded an 88.6% cut-off rate.

Additionally, Ravenshaw University led in subjects like Mathematics, Chemistry, Geology, Computer Science, Economics, and Statistics within the Physical Science stream for colleges with high cut-off marks.
In the self-financing category, BJB Autonomous College posted an 87.4% cut-off for Biotechnology admissions, while Madhusudan Law University required 81% for the five-year Integrated BA LLB course. Radhamadhab Sanskrit College in Khurda set the highest cut-off at 68.57% for Sanskrit admissions.
