Odisha Post Offices Closed for Tech Overhaul Today

(OT Webdesk)All post offices across Odisha—including Bhubaneswar, Khurda, and Balasore—remained closed today, August 2, to facilitate the rollout of Advanced Postal Technology 2.0.

The Department of Posts is replacing its legacy SAP-based system with a more efficient platform aimed at streamlining operations and enhancing customer experience.

Tapas Kumar Das, Superintendent of Post Offices in Balasore, stated that the upgrade will minimise delays, improve data synchronisation, and boost workflow efficiency. Services are expected to resume on Sunday, August 3, with full functionality by Monday.

The department has appealed for public cooperation during the transition, emphasising that this modernisation effort marks a significant step toward digital transformation in public services.
