Bhubaneswar, May 25, ( OT Webdesk) – In a landmark move, the Odisha government has unveiled ambitious infrastructure plans for Bhubaneswar, aiming to tackle growing urban congestion. The initiative includes a fully underground metro rail connecting Patia to the newly developed CRP Road, set for completion by the end of 2025.
In addition to the metro, the government has approved multiple ring roads to streamline traffic and boost connectivity.
Minister Prithviraj Harichandan announced that an inner ring road and an outer ring road—passing through Khordha, Jatni, and Trisulia—are scheduled for completion by 2027.
A Capital Region Ring Road is also in the works to further expand the city’s transportation network.
Road expansion projects, including the widening of the Acharya Vihar–Patia corridor, are expected to enhance accessibility and ease commute times.
These developments reflect the state’s vision for modernising urban mobility and keeping pace with rapid urbanisation.
