Odisha Parab 2026 Showcases Culture and Tourism in Guwahati
Guwahati witnessed a vibrant celebration of Odisha’s rich heritage as the three-day Odisha Parab 2026 unfolded from January 30 to February 1.
Organised by the Odisha Tourism Department in collaboration with FICCI, the festival brought together artisans, performers, culinary experts, and tourism stakeholders to highlight the state’s cultural and economic strengths.
Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Pravati Parida inaugurated the event, emphasising Odisha’s vision of positioning itself as an “experiential destination” that blends heritage, natural beauty, cuisine, and modern infrastructure.
Assam Tourism Commissioner Diganta Barah and Odisha Tourism officials Balwant Singh and Deepankar Mohapatra also attended, underscoring the festival’s role in strengthening ties between Odisha and Assam.
The festival featured traditional dance and music performances, handicraft and handloom exhibitions, and authentic Odia cuisine prepared by master chefs.
Tour operators showcased Odisha’s diverse destinations, from pristine beaches and ancient temples to eco-tourism hotspots.
By choosing Guwahati as the venue, Odisha Tourism aimed to deepen cultural and economic collaboration with the Northeast.
The event also aligned with national goals of cultural integration and sustainable tourism, promising to boost tourist footfall and collaborative ventures between the two states.
Odisha Parab 2026 was more than a cultural showcase—it served as a holistic engagement hub supported by multiple state departments, including Culture, Handlooms, ORMAS, and Mission Shakti.
The festival reaffirmed Odisha’s commitment to promoting inter-state harmony and positioning itself as a beacon of cultural outreach.
