Odisha MSME Budget 2026–27: A New Milestone for Small Enterprises

The Odisha government has announced a significant boost for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector with a budget allocation of Rs 762.78 crore for 2026–27. Of this, Rs 672.40 crore has been earmarked for scheme expenditure and Rs 90.38 crore for administrative costs.

MSME Minister Gokulananda Mallik described the budget as a “new milestone,” highlighting its potential to drive employment, income generation, and economic prosperity.

With over 14 lakh enterprises registered on the Udyam portal, MSMEs remain the second-largest employment provider in the state after agriculture.

Key initiatives include easier access to credit facilities, capital subsidies for small enterprises, export promotion incentives, technology upgradation support, and the development of MSME parks across districts.

The government also plans to strengthen startup schemes to encourage youth entrepreneurship and promote cluster-based industrial growth.

The announcement was made in the Odisha Assembly, with senior officials including Industry Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, ACS Hemant Sharma, and MSME Commissioner Rashmita Panda in attendance.

This budget underscores Odisha’s commitment to positioning MSMEs as a driver of industrial growth, resilience, and inclusive development.
