Odisha Mourns the Loss of Ironman Babuni in Tragic Road Accident

(OT Webdesk)Santosh Kumar Barajena, fondly known as Babuni and revered as the “Ironman of Odisha,” tragically passed away at the age of 38 following a road accident near Daya Bridge in Bhubaneswar.

A resident of Nuagaon, Babuni was a celebrated bodybuilder with accolades in both national and international competitions.

His untimely demise has left the fitness and sports community in deep mourning.

Prominent figures, including MLA Ananta Narayan Jena, former minister Suresh Kumar Routray, Ashok Chandra Panda, and others, visited to pay their last respects.

In a final act of generosity, Babuni’s eyes were donated as per his wishes. His younger brothers, Dr. Chinmayananda Barajena and Pinaki Barajena, performed the last rites in their native village.

Babuni’s legacy as a disciplined athlete and inspirational figure will continue to motivate generations of bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts across Odisha and beyond.
