Odisha Minister: LPG Stock Secure, Commercial Supply Doubled
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra has assured citizens that domestic LPG supply remains stable across the state.
He emphasised that nearly 14,000 cylinders are available in reserve against a daily requirement of around 2,000, urging households not to panic or resort to hoarding.
To ease shortages faced by hotels, restaurants, and other commercial establishments, the state government has increased commercial LPG allocation to 40% from the earlier 20%.
The Centre has approved an additional 20% allocation, and discussions are underway for a further 10% hike.
Patra stated that within two days, commercial supply is expected to meet half of the demand, significantly reducing pressure on businesses.
He added that the state is working closely with the central government to secure extra allocation and ensure smooth distribution.
The minister reiterated that complaints are being addressed promptly and appealed to consumers to remain calm, highlighting that both domestic and commercial supply chains are being actively monitored.
