Odisha Matric Exams 2026 Begin Amid Tight Security

Bhubaneswar: The annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations in Odisha commenced on February 19, 2026, with 5,61,979 students appearing across 3,082 centres statewide.

To ensure transparency and fairness, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has placed all exam centres under CCTV surveillance, monitored live from its central command room.

Officials emphasised that the move aims to prevent malpractice and create a stress‑free environment for students.

Educationist R. N. Panda expressed confidence in student preparedness and welcomed the CBSE supplementary exam policy, which allows candidates to reappear in subjects such as English, Science, Social Studies, and Languages to improve their scores.

Authorities have urged students to remain calm, maintain discipline, and avoid stress during the examinations.

With comprehensive monitoring and arrangements in place, officials are optimistic about the smooth conduct of the exams across Odisha.
