Bhubaneswar, June 14, (OT Webdesk): The Odisha government has made Aadhaar compulsory for accessing major state-run services, aiming to improve transparency and streamline document processing.
As per the directive issued by the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, residents must provide their Aadhaar number to apply for essential documents such as caste certificates, income certificates, legal heir certificates, and land records.
To facilitate implementation in remote areas, the state is working with OCAC and NIC to organise Aadhaar enrollment camps where necessary.
Officials have assured that those awaiting Aadhaar assignment can use alternative identification documents such as PAN cards, voter IDs, and passports, along with an Aadhaar enrollment slip, for interim access to services.
This policy aligns with Odisha’s broader vision of digitising administrative processes and ensuring direct benefit transfers (DBT) without intermediaries.
